The “Helping Hands” volunteer program
Caboolture Special School offers a volunteer program where members of the community and those studying in the area of disability services can come and donate some of their valuable time to assist in the day to day operation of the school. We appreciate the time and skills that these members of the community can offer and the feedback received from our volunteers has been that it can be such a valuable and rewarding process for everyone involved.

As a ‘Helping Hand’ in the classroom, you may be asked to help with:
  • assist in the packing away of equipment and activities
  • assist a student to participate in a classroom activity
  • assist with photocopying, laminating or other classroom preparation
  • assist with meal time preparation and clean up
  • assist in the supervision of children in the playground
  • read or assist a student to read a book
  • assist students and teachers on a community access visit (outing)
  • assist a student with toileting and other self care processes.

To become a “Helping Hand” you will need to hold a current blue card.  Applications packs for our “Helping Hands” volunteer program can be obtained from the office.
