Computers and technology

Information Communication Technology (ICT) at Caboolture Special School plays a crucial role in the education of our students not only as a means of assisting the students with everyday life but also as educational tools. At our school we use computers, interactive whiteboards, iPod touches, dance mats and other assistive technologies. In the hands of our teachers and with the support of our IT team, these devices enable our school to provide innovative and cutting edge programs designed to enrich and enhance student learning.
Caboolture Special School has a high ratio of modern computers to student numbers and our IT support is supplied by two IT techs five days per week. Our IT support team possess a broad range of knowledge and experience with a wide range of technology as well as numerous multimedia software packages. With an IT mentoring program for our teachers, our IT support team ensures our teachers are IT confident and at the forefront of the latest technology and software packages enabling them to explore their use in their classrooms and with their students which has resulted in classes producing projects such as short films and videos with student assistance.
At Caboolture Special School, our ICT vision is to continue to use new and emerging technologies to assist students in everyday life as well as in achieving the highest possible learning outcomes.
